Connect Cursor
Point Cursor, or any Streamable HTTP MCP client, at the live bridge inside mcut Studio.
The live bridge runs inside mcut Studio. Once the app is open, an MCP client
connects to http://127.0.0.1:44737/mcp with the token the app generated, and
every tool call edits the project on screen.
Add to Cursor from the app menu
Open the MCP menu in Studio and choose Add to Cursor. The app opens a
cursor://anysphere.cursor-deeplink/mcp/install link with the server name
mcut and the MCP URL already filled in. Cursor asks you to confirm, then
lists mcut under MCP servers.
Add the URL by hand
Choose Copy MCP URL from the same menu, then add the entry to mcp.json. Cursor
reads .cursor/mcp.json in the project and ~/.cursor/mcp.json for every
project, per the Cursor MCP docs.
{
"mcpServers": {
"mcut": {
"url": "http://127.0.0.1:44737/mcp?token=<token from the app>"
}
}
}The same URL works for any client that speaks Streamable HTTP MCP.
Add a stdio server
A client that only speaks stdio runs the mcut-bridge mcp adapter, which
forwards every tool call to the running app. The adapter needs the same token,
the token value from Copy MCP URL.

"env": { "MCUT_BRIDGE_TOKEN": "<token from the app>" }
}
}
}Approve the server in cursor-agent
The Cursor CLI, cursor-agent, lists a server from a project .cursor/mcp.json
as not loaded (needs approval) until you approve it. Run
cursor-agent mcp enable mcut once, or pass --approve-mcps to a run.
cursor-agent mcp list shows mcut: ready when the server loads.
The fixed port
Studio listens on 44737 every time it starts, so a stored client entry keeps
working across restarts. The token is the only secret in the URL. It lives in
the app's user data directory, see
Install Studio.
Check the connection from a terminal.
curl -s http://127.0.0.1:44737/statusThe answer is {"ok":true,"result":{"connected":true,"tab":{...}}} once the
editor has loaded. connected is false for the first moments after launch,
before the editor window has attached to the bridge. Closing the window quits
the app and the bridge with it.
When 44737 is busy
Another process on the port, or a second copy of Studio, makes the app fall
back to a random free port. It writes the reason to standard error, puts the
new MCP URL in the window title, and Copy MCP URL and Add to Cursor use the
new URL. A client entry that still names 44737 fails until you add the
server again from the menu, or quit the other process and restart Studio.
What the agent can do
Every tool in the MCP server reference is
available, including the live bridge only tools. ensure_transcript runs
transcription in the app, run_action reaches the editor actions such as
transcript.remove-silence, and get_summary reads the project that is open
in the window. export_video renders the timeline and writes the video to your
Downloads folder without a save dialog. The
agent instructions page is the prompt-side
companion to this setup.
